What is it?
This metric aims at keeping the length of the sentences small.
A sentence is defined as the content in between two full stops or in between a carriage return and a full stop.
A rule of thumb is to aim for 20-word long sentences.
If the 15% of the sentences are longer than 20 words, the metric is flagged as Warning
If the 30% of the sentences are longer than 20 words, the metric is flagged as Problem
Why does it matter?
Structure the content
A sentence gathers the content around a common idea or concept.
Make the content easier to read
Short sentences are easier to read and understand.
White space helps to draw the reader’s attention to your text.
How to improve the Sentence Length?
Shorten your sentences
